Juvenile Delinquency Cases

When a child under the age of 18 commits what would be a crime if he or she were an adult, then the State of Florida may take different actions depending on the child’s age and the law that is violated. The most common action is for the State to file a Petition for Delinquency. This will result in the child going through a similar process an adult would go through in criminal court.
