How Does Adultery Affect My Divorce Case in Florida?

Listen as Florida family law attorney Linda Gruszynski explains the conditions under which adultery may affect your divorce case in Florida.

When you file for divorce, you do not need to prove adultery. You just have to show that your marriage is irremediably broken. The court may consider adultery if one of the parties has a claim for alimony.

If the adulterer is seeking alimony, the court will not be very sympathetic to them. It could either affect that person’s claim to get alimony at all, or it could affect the amount that might be awarded.

If your spouse committed adultery and wasted marital funds on the affair, then the court might require reimbursement through other assets or through an award of alimony. Watch the video to learn more.
