How Can Alimony Be Modified?

Listen as Kissimmee family law attorney, Linda Gruszynski explains how an alimony award can be modified.

Alimony can be changed by filing a supplemental petition to modify the alimony award. Additionally, we will need to provide evidence that there was a substantial change in circumstances that is permanent and was not considered or expected during the original award or the most recent modification.

Another important factor to consider is whether the receiving party has entered into a supportive relationship. In other words, is the recipient now residing with or sharing funds with another person, and essentially receiving financial support from that person? If so, alimony can be reduced or terminated. Watch the video to learn more.

If you have additional questions regarding alimony and how it can be modified, call the experienced Kissimmee family law attorneys of Draper Law Offices at 407-846-0075. I welcome your call.
