The Liability of Parents Who Allow Minors To Drink Or Do Drugs At Home

Listen as Florida attorney Charlie Draper explains the liability of adults that let minors consume alcohol or drugs or drugs in their homes.

Imagine a parent allows a minor under the age of 21 to drink or take drugs, and as a consequence of these actions this teenager causes an accident or injures a third party. The parent is accountable in this situation.

The law in Florida prohibits selling, giving or serving alcohol or drugs to people under age 21. This is considered not only a crime, but it could be the basis in a civil action to obtain compensation for the wrongdoing of the adult who permitted a minor child to consume drugs or alcoholic beverages.

This statute is designed to protect minors who are still too immature to know the consequences of their actions. Watch the video to learn more.

If you have additional questions about the liability of a parent for a minor’s consumption of alcohol or drugs, I want you to call me at 407-846-0075. I welcome your call.
