It Is Important To Keep A Pain Journal Following An Injury

Listen as Charles Draper explains the importance of keeping and maintaining a pain diary following an accident.

There are a couple of key things that you can do to protect yourself and strengthen your case following an accident. One of these things is to keep and maintain a pain journal. This is important because more often than not, during and after an accident your adrenaline is pumping, and you may not realize it, but your body could be experiencing pain, and it’s possible that it could only become aware of the injury a day or two after an accident.

A couple of reasons why it is so important to keep this diary is because you could be experiencing a number of different injuries over the span of the case or trial. Some injuries could last a couple of days, and some may last longer, but most – if not all – of them will vary in intensity, so it can be difficult to remember at times, especially if the case goes on for months or even years. Also, this will aid the doctor’s efforts in the treatment of your injuries, as well as in helping to reject the other party’s attorney’s attempts to downplay your injuries.

The pain journal or diary will play a large role in the courtroom, where we will expose the details of the pain you experienced to the jury. This is because they are the ones that will be making the final decision of whether or not you will receive compensation for your pain and suffering. Watch the video to learn more.
