2 Killed In 2 Separate Crashes In Osceola County

Unfortunately, the 4th of July weekend in Osceola County did not start off in a celebratory manner. It started off with two fatal accidents that happened within hours of each other. Two people were killed in these deadly crashes.

The accidents happened overnight from July 3 to July 4. The first one occurred at 11:30 p.m. on July 3 at Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway and Vacanza Boulevard. That was when a 45-year-old man riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle failed to slow down and rear-ended a Mazda CX-50 in front of him. The man was taken to Osceola Regional Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries. Those in the Mazda did not suffer any injuries. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

The second crash happened just over two hours later at Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway and Pineview Crest Road. A 32-year-old man was walking in the roadway when he was hit by a vehicle. The pedestrian was allegedly not in a marked crosswalk and was in the way of the vehicle. The man died at the accident scene. The driver remained at the crash site. This crash is also under investigation.

What Happens When a Pedestrian Is Not in a Marked Crosswalk?
